Commission a Custom PortraitCurrently open to Canadian and American residents only.
Commissioning a portrait is a special collaboration between you and me. My goal is to create a piece that captures your vision and leaves you smiling every time you see it. Here’s how the process works:
1. Initial ConsultationWe’ll start with a chat via email, phone, or in person. During this conversation, we’ll cover:
- The subject of the portrait (person, pet, or both)
- Style preferences and examples of my work you love (please pick 3 pieces from my site)
- Size and space considerations
- Shipping options and costs
This is also a chance for you to ask questions and for me to get to know your loved ones — one of my favourite parts of creating custom art!
2. PhotosI work from high-quality, high-resolution photos with good lighting. If your photos aren’t suitable, I’ll let you know and suggest ways to improve them.
3. PricingMy pricing reflects the time, care, and quality materials I use to create your portrait. Base prices are for a single, unframed person or pet portrait on a blurred or plain background.

- Additional people or pets in the same portrait require an extra fee (to be discussed).
- Other sizes are available upon request.
- Shipping and applicable taxes are not included.

4. Deposit & AgreementBefore I start, we’ll agree on the final price in writing. A 50% deposit is required to secure your commission. Deposits are only refundable if I’m unable to complete your commission for any reason.
5. Painting & ReviewOnce I’ve finished the portrait, I’ll send you a photo preview.
- Small adjustments can be made at no charge.
- Major changes may incur an additional cost.
When you’re happy with the result, the remaining balance is due before shipping or pick-up. Payment is accepted via direct deposit.
6. Timing & DeliveryTurnaround depends on my current workload. Summer tends to be busier with festivals, so please plan ahead, especially for Christmas gifts. Average turnaround is 3–4 weeks.
7. Terms & Copyright- Copyright remains with me unless agreed in writing before starting the commission.
- Clients may not reproduce commissioned artwork.
- I may post the finished piece online.
- If using professional photographer images, I require permission to use them in the portrait.
8. Your Portrait ArrivesAfter payment, your artwork is shipped or ready for pick-up. Then comes the best part: falling in love with your custom portrait!
