About image
Hi, I'm Julie! I'm a self-taught acrylic artist living in rural Spencerville, Ontario. My creative path has taken me through graphic design, teaching, web development, and UI design—basically, if it involves visuals, I’ve probably done it! Since 2018, painting has become my full-time passion, and I now spend my days playing with bold colours, expressive forms, and the emotional magic that happens when art meets heart.

I’ve picked up a Bachelor of Arts and a Commercial Art diploma along the way, and I’ve continued to learn through the Ottawa School of Art, workshops with amazing Canadian artists, Bold School online, international courses—and of course, lots of good old-fashioned brush time. I especially love painting animals and people, zooming in close to capture their unique vibe with vivid colours and a loose, painterly style. My goal? To spark curiosity and create those little moments of magic that connect you with the soul of my subjects.

You’ll find my work in juried exhibitions, local shows, and in private collections across Canada, Germany, and the U.S. I’m also a proud member and volunteer with the Merrickville Artists’ Guild, the North Grenville Arts Guild, and the Manotick Art Association.

These days, I’ve traded city life for a cozy hobby farm, where I live with my husband, two horses, and my soul dog, Missie. When I'm not in the studio, I'm soaking up the peace and inspiration of rural life.
