About image
Hi, I'm Julie! I am a a self-taught acrylic artist tucked away in rural Spencerville, Ontario, where I happily traded pixels and code for paint splatters and bold colour. After years of hopping between graphic design, teaching, web development, and UI design, I finally followed my heart in 2018 and made painting my full-time adventure.

I love working with vibrant colours and loose, expressive strokes, especially when I’m presented with my favourite subjects: animals and people. I’m all about capturing that spark—the personality, energy, and joy that make each portrait feel alive.

Armed with a BA, a Commercial Art diploma, and ongoing studies through local art schools, workshops, and international courses, I’ve developed a vivid, painterly style that’s instantly recognizable. My work can be found in juried exhibitions, local shows, and private collections across Canada, Germany, and the U.S.

As President of the North Grenville Arts Guild, I am passionate about fostering a welcoming and supportive creative community for artists of all levels. I work closely with fellow members and community partners to bring the arts into the heart of the community while helping to elevate the Guild’s events, outreach, and online presence. Through collaboration, inclusivity, and a love of the arts, I am committed to creating opportunities for artists to connect, grow, and share their work with a wider audience.
